A former Edmonton TV personality is suing a city neurologist for $530,000 after alleging he took advantage of her sexually while treating her for severe migraines.

According to a statement of claim filled in Court of Queen’s Bench on Oct. 29, Valerie Oczkowski alleges Dr. Bradley Stewart exploited her while she was “highly vulnerable” after having surgery to remove a brain tumor and was incapable of consenting to a sexual relationship.

The former Consumer Watch Reporter at CTV Edmonton also alleges Stewart breached a duty of care owed to her when he began a sexual relationship with her and continued to treat her with therapeutic drugs and injections.

Oczkowski also claims Stewart knew or ought to have known that his conduct towards her was “unconscionable” and a “serious and flagrant” professional breach.

As a result of the alleged “sexual battery,” breaches of duty and “recurring emotional/mental abuse,” Oczkowski alleges she has suffered serious personal injury, including post traumatic stress disorder and severe depression.
