QUEBEC CITY — The driver who crashed a school bus full of teenagers in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier, Que., on Monday morning was reportedly feeling unwell when he got behind the wheel and died several hours later in hospital.
The driver was taken to hospital in critical condition after the crash at 9:20 a.m. about 50 km northwest of Quebec City.
The bus swerved into a curve, overturned and hit a tree.
The driver and 11 students on board were all able to exit the bus themselves, but the 53-year-old driver then collapsed.
It's unknown if his ailments were caused from the crash or a pre-existing medical problem.
Four students were also taken to hospital for minor injuries.
