TORONTO — The mayor’s brother, Coun. Doug Ford, was under fire Thursday for handing out $20 bills at a Toronto Community Housing building.
Ford maintains he did nothing wrong when he handed out a "couple hundred dollars" to Tanridge Cres. residents at a Christmas gift giveaway on Wednesday night.
But Coun. Gord Perks said an elected official doling out cash to residents is a "corrupt act."
"What he is doing is just plain corrupt," Perks charged Thursday.
Perks said he has yet to decide whether to file an integrity commissioner complaint over the incident.
"This is fundamentally subverting the proper relationship between elected officials and the public.”
