TORONTO - Mayor Rob Ford says his love of Bob Marley music prompted Tuesday's dancing.

Ford's dancing spree on the council floor while a jazz trio played Marley's "One love" and a Christmas song was still making headlines around the world a day later. The mayor has been in the spotlight of the world's news media for weeks now due to his ongoing crack cocaine scandal.

Councillors were back at City Hall on Wednesday trying to finish the last council meeting before the Christmas break. There are still dozens of items on the agenda including the city's 2014 waste budget that includes a 3% garbage rate hike.

Ford laughed off his enthusiastic dancing display when asked about it on Wednesday.

"I love Bob Marley," Ford said. "When I heard the song, I had to get up and dance.

"I love Bob Marley, he's a great musician and I love his music."
