TORONTO — Mayor Rob Ford lashed out at a reporter who asked if he was drinking at a nightclub over the weekend.
Ford caused a stir on social media Saturday night when he showed up at Muzik.
The mayor — who has admitted to smoking crack cocaine while in a drunken stupor — was asked Monday at City Hall if he was drinking at the club.
“You know what? I’m not even going to,” Ford said before growing more agitated as he waited for the elevator to take him to the city council meeting.
“Were you drinking this weekend? Were you drinking this weekend?” he asked the CBC reporter.
Ford maintained he wasn’t drinking.
“No, I wasn’t drinking, I don’t drink,” he said.
“’Cause I got some attention at the clubs, is that what you’re jealous of?”
In the wake of his crack scandal, Ford has denied he is a drug addict or alcoholic. He says he gave up drinking on Nov. 1 and hasn’t had a “drop” of alcohol since then.
Coun. Doug Ford told QMI Agency on Sunday that the mayor had a sugar-free energy drink at Muzik.
