OTTAWA -- Police want to speak to a 31-year-old local man in connection with the possible kidnapping of a woman in Montreal.

Philippe Steele, of Gatineau, Que., who also goes by the last name Morin, is believed to be the last person to have seen Tricia Boisvert, Montreal police confirmed on Wednesday.

Police in and around Ottawa are on high alert after the black 2005 Pontiac G6 owned by Boisvert was spotted here, sources said, adding the vehicle was being driven by a man, but no other information was immediately available.

Police forces in eastern Ontario and western Quebec have issued a "BOLO" or be-on-the-lookout alert for the G6, with Quebec licence plate 156 XQG.

Boisvert, 36, has been missing from her Montreal home since Friday. Detectives were called in after what cops called suspicious items were found in her apartment.

Cops in Ottawa, Gatineau and Montreal remain very tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding Boisvert's disappearance.

Police say they believe she was abducted. They also say, because of Boisvert's connections in Ottawa and Gatineau, she might be in this area.
