OTTAWA - Canadian veterans began holding sit-ins across the country at Veterans Affairs offices scheduled close Friday evening.

The sit-ins and memorials were organized with the help of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, the union that represents workers in Veterans Affairs offices.

NDP MPs also plan to attend the various events, which take place in Sydney, N.S., Brandon, Man., as well as Windsor, Thunder Bay and Saskatoon in Ontario.
