Two children were on the bus that collided with their mother as she stood beside a broken down truck on the side of a Saskatchewan highway.

Monica Domes, 40, was killed in the collision, which occurred around 3:57 p.m. Monday on Hwy. 4 near the town of Biggar, located 95 km west of Saskatoon.

The school bus was carrying Grade 3 students. Both the truck and bus ended up on their side beside the road.

A man sitting inside the truck wasn't injured, but Domes, who was standing outside the truck, was hit.

She was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Three children in the bus were taken to hospital as a precaution and were released Monday night. The bus driver was taken to a Saskatoon hospital Tuesday, RCMP said.
