TORONTO - Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s approval rating has dropped slightly over the last month, according to a new poll.

The Forum Research poll, provided exclusively to the Toronto Sun, finds 43% still approve of the job Ford is doing as mayor and 37% would vote for him this year.

The poll, conducted Thursday, asked 769 residents: “Overall do you approve or disapprove of the job Rob Ford is doing as mayor of Toronto?”

About 43% said they approve of the job Ford is doing while 57% said they disapprove.

Ford’s approval rating has been sliding since a 47% high in the wake of the ice storm when Forum conducted a poll on Jan. 6.

Two weeks ago, Ford’s approval rating was 45%. Despite Ford’s admission to smoking crack cocaine last November and an unending series of gaffes and controversies since then, his approval rating has yet to slip back below 40%.

The poll also asked residents if they’ll vote to re-elect Ford in the October election.
