TORONTO - Coun. Doug Ford accused the media of not having the “moral authority” to ask about Mayor Rob Ford’s whereabouts.

Asked Tuesday why the mayor continues to keep his schedule private, his brother blamed the media.

“You hounds will be sitting at a little old lady Mrs. Smith’s door waiting for him, harassing the person that he’s trying to help out,” said the councillor — who is acting as the mayor’s re-election campaign manager. “That’s pretty clear and pretty transparent, people know that throughout the city, so that’s why he doesn’t give you his schedule but I’m glad he’s out visiting folks each and every single day.”

Since taking office Mayor Ford has refused to make his daily schedule public. Media outlets wanting to see it can gain access weeks later through freedom of information requests.
