The Ontario government intends to make its case Wednesday that the federal government is short-changing the province.

Finance Minister Charles Sousa has likened the federal budget to a “kick in the teeth” because it does not make up for a decline in last year’s transfers.

Premier Kathleen Wynne and Sousa will hold a media conference Wednesday following a “technical briefing” that lays out their position.

The Stephen Harper government projects a surplus in 2015-16, while Ontario has said it will balance its budget by 2017-18.
