OTTAWA ─ The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario wants a judge to order the owner of an Ottawa laser clinic not to perform surgery, give injections or do anything else that could lead to "serious bodily harm."

It's seeking the earliest possible court date for the application filed in Toronto Friday against Eve Stewart of Eve's Laser Clinic, college spokeswoman Kathryn Clarke said.

It's a rare move which the college, entrusted to protect the public when it comes to the practice of medicine, last took in 2010.

Stewart, who says she can't find a lawyer, said she did one rhinoplasty to fix a client's nose "botched" by a cosmetic surgeon but has no intention of doing another because "I don't need the headache."

She may now close up her home clinic, complaining "the stress of all this is breaking me down into nothing."
