MONTREAL - Quebec language cops only have to look at provincial Facebook sites to bust English-only offenders.

Quebec's Office de la langue francaise (OQLF), the province's language watchdog, has launched a crackdown on businesses that have English Facebook pages.

Meanwhile, several Quebec government Facebook pages continue to be exclusively written in English.

At the same time that a women's boutique in Chelsea, Que., was targeted by the OQLF for having an English Facebook page, a search of Facebook.com shows that Quebec government pages for offices in London, England, New York City, Boston and Washington D.C., are in English.

There are other government pages, such as the one for Los Angeles, that have a minimal amount of French.

The OQLF says that having an English-only Facebook page runs counter to Bill 101, Quebec's French Language Charter.
