Mayor Rob Ford says he's proud of his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

"It went good," Ford told reporters Tuesday after arriving back at City Hall. "I tried to get my message out. I wish I had a couple more minutes. He's a comedian and he did what he had to do and I did what I have to do."

Ford said appearing on Kimmel's show on Monday night was a "walk in the park" compared to his experiences with Toronto's media.

"If I can survive the Toronto media, I can survive anything," he said.

Ford said he wasn't embarrassed "at all" by Kimmel showing him several viral videos of the mayor — including his rant in a Jamaican accent at the Steak Queen restaurant in Etobicoke.

"This is becoming old news," he said. "They've seen my mistake, I've apologized, we're moving on."

He insisted people have become "numb to this stuff" and are tired of the attention paid to his personal life.

The mayor described Kimmel as a nice guy.
