KENORA, Ont. - Police have reopened an investigation into a high speed crash in northern Ontario after a dash cam video of it went viral.

On March 4, Ralph Everett Ireland posted a video showing the crash. Ireland's truck crashed into a green truck towing a trailer that pulled out in front of him. Ireland and his wife, Ikfa, were on the Kenora Bypass, about 200 km east of Winnipeg, and had no time to stop.

Ireland commented on his own video post, "Ifka and I will be sore for a while but still alive!"

Ontario Provincial Police said the 36-year-old Manitoba man driving the green truck was charged with failing to yield.

But Const. Ronnie Grosenick said after police saw the video, which appears to show the driver of the green truck talking on a cellphone - which is illegal in Ontario - officers are investigating further "in light of new evidence."
