TORONTO - Police have obtained a new search warrant in the Rob Ford investigation.

The Toronto Sun and other media outlets trying to gain access to search warrant material from Project Brazen 2 were notified Friday that Toronto Police investigators had sought and obtained a new warrant from the courts.

The warrant was sealed by the court so the details are not available to the public.

Another warrant being sought by police is a sign the investigation into Ford — who admitted to smoking crack cocaine last November — is continuing.

Lawyers representing the media outlets trying to obtain the search warrant information expect to be back in court the week of March 17 trying to view this warrant and around 50 pages related to other warrant orders.

Barring any objections by lawyers, they could be made public as early as March 19.

The latest warrant comes two days after Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair announced oversight of Brazen 2 would be handed over to the OPP.
