TORONTO — Mayor Rob Ford kept returning phone calls to residents shortly after the video of him swearing and stumbling in front of City Hall was filmed, his brother told reporters Tuesday.

Doug Ford said he spoke to the cab driver who picked up the mayor Saturday night, just after the video was filmed.

In the video, Mayor Ford is shown wearing green beads, looking red-faced and acting erratically. He approaches a cab and then can be heard shouting “f---ing idiot!”

Mayor Ford has yet to explain the video or clarify whether he was drinking again. In November, Ford claimed he'd sworn off alcohol. That followed a public admission that he had smoked crack cocaine.

Doug Ford stressed he doesn’t want to see any more videos of the mayor, but also said he doesn't think the mayor looked that bad.

“S---, he didn’t look as bad as I thought,” Doug Ford said of his reaction to seeing the latest video for the first time.
