TORONTO - While the news of a description by police of Mayor Rob Ford smoking from a glass pipe was the talk of the town, the man at the centre of it says he was in a meeting focusing on fighting for taxpayers.
"I am in executive committee so I don't even know what's out there," he said over the phone in a whisper from inside the meeting in his first comments since the latest documents from Project Brazen 2 were released.
When told what the release contained he said he found it "funny" that it was dropped in the middle of the election campaign and on the very day of John Tory's official kick off.
Coun. Doug Ford went further: "It always timed right. It's impeccably timed to co-ordinate with others' agendas."
He also said "I am hearing in the street" that people are "tired of" information in court documents.
