OTTAWA — Pat and Sheri Leighton have so much more information about their son’s shop-class death now than they had last week, but there's still one thing they'd like to hear: "We're sorry."

Ever since their bright, athletic, respected son Eric Leighton, 18, was killed while trying to make a barbecue out of a recycled oil drum as part of an auto shop project, the couple have been in the dark about exactly what happened that day.

They're not ready to turn the page yet; they’re still suing their son's former teacher Scott Day and the Ottawa Catholic School Board.
