OTTAWA -- A quick-acting teacher revived a 13-year-old boy who lost consciousness after being crushed between gym doors.

Rescue crews were called to Notre Dame High School shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday. The boy was apparently stuck between doors which can be hydraulically operated to divide the gymnasium.

He was not breathing when he was rescued, and a teacher started CPR. The boy had regained consciousness when emergency crews arrived.

The student was rushed to hospital.
