TORONTO -- Premier Kathleen Wynne has threatened to sue PC Leader Tim Hudak over comments he made about the raging gas plant scandal.

In an open letter to Hudak, Wynne said Sunday she has sought legal advice about the Tory leader's comments that allege a link between her and a supposed plan to delete e-mails linked to the cancellation.

"I have sought and obtained legal advice regarding your comments, and if steps are not taken immediately, I will have no choice but to take all necessary and appropriate steps to ensure your false statements are corrected," Wynne said in her letter.

Wynne took issue with remarks Hudak made during a press conference Thursday, saying they have also been posted on Tory websites and sent out via e-mail.

"This is more Kathleen Wynne's scandal than Dalton McGuinty's now," Hudak claimed Thursday. "She oversaw and possibly ordered the criminal destruction of documents to cover up the gas plant scandal. I mean, what more do you need than to change government?"
