VANCOUVER — West Vancouver police say they’re conducting an internal review of a YouTube video that shows longboarders zooming down a hill before a police SUV pulls halfway into the oncoming lane with its lights flashing, causing one of the borders to crash and go sliding several metres.

“You swerved in front of our lane and you made all of us crash,” one of the boarders said to the officer after he got out of his SUV.

“Our lane?” the officer replied. “It’s illegal to ride a longboard on here, I’m sick and tired of dealing with you, do you understand?”

The man told the officer he should be doing better things with his time.

The police department said the video was shot April 9.

“West Vancouver Police are aware of concerns being expressed via social media regarding the videotaped interaction between a WVPD officer and longboarders on Finch Hill Rd. in West Vancouver last week,” the department said in a press release.
