It doesn't matter where you live in Ottawa, pot is the drug of choice for many. On Sunday, April 20, 2014 the annual 420 rally will take place on Parliament Hill. This year's event is called Fill the Hill. QMI FILE PHOTO

Ottawa - To be blunt, I've got the right name for this article.

One of the largest "peaceful celebrations" in Canada happens on Parliament Hill Sunday at noon, and it has nothing to do with Easter.

It's 420 Ottawa -- Fill The Hill.

Thousands -- as many as 10,000 -- of pot smokers and pot smoker-supporters will gather to light up for an afternoon, showing their desire for the discrimination of marijuana.

It's not, however, a political info-session.

While these folks, on most days, would be a great resource for perspective on the pros of cannabis -- Sunday will be a festival atmosphere. A free concert with a load of weed, essentially.

"We'll have hula hoopers and bubble blowers," says organizer Claude Galipeau.

"Lots of swag, T-shirts and 1,000 free slices of pizza. It's for the crowd. An appreciation for people's desire to change cannabis policy."

The event, which runs from noon to 5 p.m., is guest-hosted by stilt-walker Precious Chong, the daughter of Tommy Chong from the weed-happy comedic movie duo Cheech and Chong.
