OTTAWA -- It's been a deadly Saturday on this Easter weekend, with two people killed including a woman who died after her father's vehicle struck her.

The 54-year-old woman died in hospital after being hit by her father's crossover SUV Saturday morning on Parkdale Ave.

The woman's father -- an elderly man -- was trying to park the vehicle, when he ran over her, police sources say.

The accident was also witnessed by the man's granddaughter, sources say.

Paramedics responded to the block of Parkdale Ave. between Inglewood and Ruskin just before 10:30 a.m. where they found the woman without vital signs near a black Ford Flex with damage to its right-side bumper and headlight.

They treated the woman for "multisystem traumatic injuries."

"Aggressive advance life-support," began at the scene of the crash and continued as the patient was taken to the Ottawa Trauma Centre at the nearby Civic campus.

She died about an hour later.
