OTTAWA - His foot slipped.

That's what an OC Transpo driver told police after his bus slammed into a car on Carling Ave. near Cambridge St. Wednesday afternoon.

The crash left the woman's car sandwiched between two Transpo buses. It lifted almost up off the pavement and was significantly crumpled by the twin impacts, but police say the woman wasn't hurt.

According to Const. Marc Soucy, the driver claimed his foot became stuck between the accelerator and the brake and he wasn't able to get it free in time to stop the bus.

Andre Beauchamp, 58, of Rockland, is charged with careless driving.
