VANCOUVER -- Mounties are investigating after Transit Police fired shots at a fleeing suspect at Surrey, B.C.’s Gateway SkyTrain Station on Sunday.

Transit Police Staff Sgt. Ken Schinkel said it happened around 4 p.m.

“There were some shots fired by one of our officers,” he said. “It does not appear anybody’s been injured. The party fled in a vehicle.”

He said police have a suspect description, but didn’t release it.

Transit Police wouldn’t say why they fired shots.
