Canadian journalist and filmmaker Dave Walker, who has been missing in Cambodia since mid-February, was found dead Thursday.

Walker, 58, had been living in Siem Reap when he went missing Feb. 14. His disappearance was suspicious because he left behind all of his personal belongings, including his cellphone, laptop and passport.

The Edmonton man's body was found Thursday at the Angkor Wat temples in Siem Reap by a local child.

Walker's family told a Toronto Sun reporter the cause of death is not yet known, but it appears he died several weeks ago.

At the time of his disappearance, Walker's business partner at the production company Animist Film, Sonny Chhuon, told the Phnom Penh Post that Walker didn't drink alcohol and the two normally saw each other daily.

"I don't think he went anywhere by himself. I think something is wrong. I don't think he would just leave with his phone on the charger and go somewhere," Chhoun said.
