Katherina Pagliaroli said she spent 20 years in the Ministry of Transportation, forging a career in a predominantly male world of contractors and government officials.

Her successful career came to a crashing halt shortly after co-worker and friend Mike DePace handed her an envelope with $300 of marked OPP money in June 2010.

It was a costly gift from a corrupt cleaner-turned-police agent named Bruno Perciasepe.

DePace, who had introduced her to Perciasepe, gave her the envelope, saying it was from Perciasepe and was a "late Christmas (or birthday) present."
