Two Canadians were killed when their plane crashed in the Andes on Saturday, according to media reports.

The Colombian Air Force located the plane Monday after bad weather hampered the search on Sunday, El Tiempo reported.

The Canadian-registered plane crashed from approximately 14,700 feet while searching for minerals in the mountainous region, the paper reported.

The Associated Press said the men's identities were confirmed by the civil aviation authority as Peter Moore and Ribeiro Neville.

The plane belonged to the Saskatchewan company Oracle Geoscience International, AP reported. Moore was a company co-founder and Neville was registered as the plane's pilot. The air force is now arranging a specialized search and recovery team to recover the victims.
