An NDP government would jack up Ontario’s minimum wage to $12 an hour over two years but bring down the small business tax rate to soften the blow, Leader Andrea Horwath says.

Horwath was in Toronto’s Jane-Finch community Tuesday to chat with folks in a coffee shop, and said finding work is a big concern of local residents, especially youth.

The NDP would increase the minimum wage, which rises to $11 an hour on June 1, by 50 cents a year until it hits $12, she said.
