TORONTO -- Even Mayor Rob Ford laughed at the Twitter report he was spotted Wednesday in a Tim Hortons in The Junction?

"That's funny," he said over the phone Wednesday from an undisclosed location which he described as a rehab centre.

Not everybody is laughing.

The undisclosed location is a point of concern for a lot of people. Many want an answer or confirmation of the mayor's whereabouts?

So far the Fords have not provided that.

It is unknown if he is in Canada or elsewhere. It is also not confirmed that he is in an in-patient rehab program.

But Mayor Ford insisted Wednesday he is in a rehab centre that could cost as much as $100,000 and is working on his recovery, following recorded rants and alleged drug and alcohol use last week.

He, as well as his brother Doug, are not tipping their hand on the location. They are also not offering a timeline for his planned stay.

Mayor Ford did, however, say he will not be able to do any more media interviews from his current location.

"I got into major s--- for talking to you, so I can't talk to you," he told me.

The mayor was referring to an exclusive interview Tuesday in which he described his rehab experience so far as "amazing," and that he is planning on getting better and returning to the election campaign. The mayor also said he's in the program with a professional athlete, two doctors and CEO of a company.

"There's just a policy you're not allowed to speak to the media in these programs. I didn't know about that," he explained. "They weren't too happy."

A look back at the career of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.

I asked the mayor to pass along my apology to the treatment centre or facility. I called the mayor's cellphone Tuesday following Councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong's comments that he had spoken with the mayor.

I did not expect to get him. My plan was just to leave a message with the hopes that the mayor would return the call. But Ford picked up the phone and we talked for quite a while.
