QUEBEC CITY - Police arrested a reputed pedophile who intimidated his alleged victim while news cameras rolled.

George Boisvert, currently on trial for alleged incidents dating back to the 1970s, walked right up to Steve Beauregard at the Quebec City courthouse on Monday.

Boisvert is accused of molesting Beauregard, 43, for several years beginning when the man was eight years old.

When the elderly defendant approached the media scrum, journalists asked him to leave, to which he replied "it's public here."

The alleged victim stood, stone-faced, as Boisvert was asked if he's being aggressive.

"Why would it be aggressive?" he replied.

A reporter said "this is a victim, sir. This is a complainant. Isn't there an order that prohibits you from contacting him?"

Boisvert replied "I have not contacted him," to which the reporter remarked, "You're two inches from him."

Constables then moved in and arrested Boisvert, who could face charges of violating conditions.

He also faces a second trial for alleged sexual assaults against a girl.
