Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion threw her support behind Liberal Leader Kathleen Wynne on Wednesday.

“We have had a good relationship with this government,” said McCallion, who gave the endorsement when Wynne made a campaign stop in Mississuaga.

McCallion, 93, who will retire at the end of her term in October, said she would like to see more women leading political parties.

She also called on voters to give Wynne a majority government.

“The last thing the province needs is a minority government,” said McCallion. “Minority government leaves us as municipalities hanging out there, not knowing what legislation can’t go through the House, and what can.”
