An Ontario NDP candidate is getting a lot of attention, and it has nothing to do with his politics.

Joe Cimino, who got the NDP nomination in the Sudbury, Ont. riding last October, looks like a younger version of Toronto's embattled mayor Rob Ford.

Photos of the Sudbury politician, as he hit the road with Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath on her campaign tour, have picked up interest online.

But make no mistake, Cimino insists his looks are the only things he has in common with Ford, and he's had fun with the comparisons on Twitter.

"My staff, volunteers and I are working hard! And I'm generally considered more handsome than Ford," he wrote.

Cimino spent seven years on Sudbury's city council before making the move to provincial politics. He has received endorsements from high-profile New Democrats such as Thomas Mulcair and Ford's mayoral opponent, Olivia Chow.
