Both the feds and Inuit communities were outraged Thursday after the World Trade Organization upheld a European Union ban on seal products from Canada and Norway.

The highly anticipated ruling came after Canada and Norway launched a lengthy process of appeals to try to reverse the ban, which the EU imposed using a "public morality" clause.

Canada and Norway argued the ban illegally discriminates against their seal hunters.
