GUELPH, Ont. -- Friends of the only person charged in the robocalls scandal told court Monday that Michael Sona discussed diverting voters to wrong polling stations during the 2011 federal election campaign.

Sona, 25, is charged with wilfully preventing or endeavouring to prevent a voter from casting a ballot.

According to the case laid out in the Crown attorney's opening address, Sona orchestrated and executed a plan to direct voters to incorrect polling stations.
