CHATHAM - The body of a missing 14-year-old boy discovered off the beach in Erieau early Sunday was one of two water-related weekend deaths.

Chatham-Kent police responded to a report of the missing youth late Saturday.

A co-ordinated search effort was launched by local residents, Chatham-Kent Fire and police.

About 1 a.m. Sunday, the boy's body was found and recovered from the water, police said.

At the request of the family, police won't release the name of the victim.

In Frankford, in southeastern Ontario, OPP divers found the body of Umana Gonzalo, 47, around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Toronto man, originally from El Salvador, was last seen having difficulty swimming in a river Saturday afternoon.

More than a dozen family members and friends of Gonzalo were on scene Sunday, anxiously awaiting developments from police through the day.

Gonzalo's brother, who asked not to be named, said on behalf of his family, Sunday morning, that this weekend was not the first time the group visited the area.
