GEORGINA, Ont. -- A man who died in a skydiving mishap may have hit his head as he jumped out the plane, according to a witness.

The 39-year-old man was "highly experienced," according to staff at the Parachute School of Toronto, north of the city, where the accident took place around 6 p.m. Saturday. An acquaintance confirmed the identity of the jumper as Brad Vale of Toronto.

"He slipped and hit the bottom of the plane with his head," said witness Dmitry Shanko, 38, who lives in the trailer park behind the school.

"When he was going down, I guess he got a concussion and he was going too fast. After that, he tried to land and he hit the ground. He realized he wasn't going to make it and said, 'Oh, f---.'

"We were 200 metres away and the sound was like, boom."
