The Prince of Pot is preparing to return to Canada.

Marc Emery is set to be released from a Mississippi prison Wednesday, but will go to a private prison in Louisiana to await deportation.

In a blog post, he said he expects he will cross the border in Windsor, Ont., sometime between Aug. 10 and Aug. 25.

"I hope I will have enough advance notice to call Jodie (his wife) and have her fly stand-by to Toronto from Vancouver, then get to Windsor to be there waiting for me," the post says.

Within hours of arriving in Canada, Emery says he plans to give a talk in Toronto.

Emery, who lives in Vancouver, was sentenced to five years in prison in 2010 after pleading guilty to selling marijuana seeds online to Americans.

Vancouver radio station CKNW reports upon his return, Emery plans to pledge support for Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau.
