EDMONTON -- The Wildrose Party is inviting Albertans to pick the slogan for Alberta's new licence plate because the Progressive Conservative government isn't.

On Tuesday, the government unveiled three new licence plate designs that Albertans can vote on online. All three of the designs replace the current "Wild Rose Country" slogan with the website "Alberta.ca."

The opposition party now wants Service Alberta Minister Doug Griffiths to prove that removing the phrase "Wild Rose County" is not politically motivated by allowing Albertans to vote on a new slogan as well as a new design.

"From the feedback we've received, many Albertans have told us they feel a great deal of pride in their province and many don't want to be defined by just a government website," said Wildrose Leader Danielle Smith.
