Montreal -- An 81-year-old Montreal man died on Sunday morning when he was crushed between his car and the wall in his garage.
The accident occurred at 8:45 on Sunday morning in the suburb of Lasalle on the island of Montreal.
“According to eyewitnesses, it seems that the gentleman was doing repairs on his car when he was crushed between the garage door and his vehicle,” said Manuel Couture, a spokesman for the Montreal Police.
“We’re not talking about a criminal event,” added Couture. “We’re talking about a tragic accident.”
When the ambulance arrived, the man was suffering from cardiac failure. Paramedics confirmed his death on site.
Collision experts with the Montreal Police were called to the scene and will meet with witnesses to determine the exact cause of the accident.
