A section of the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia was closed Sunday afternoon following a bus crash outside of Neil's Harbour in which 10 people were injured.

The bus was carrying 20 passengers at the time of the 2:30 p.m. crash when it failed to negotiate a turn.

The Herald News reported 10 people were injured in the crash, one seriously, about three kilometres outside of Neil's Harbour, a small fishing village in northern Cape Breton Island.

The News reports the bus, which had Pennsylvania licence plates, ended up on it side in the ditch and passengers were trapped.

The road was reopened about five hours later but reduced to one lane.
