CALGARY - Just weeks ago parks officials were overjoyed at sightings of a female grizzly bear in Lake Louise with two newborn cubs in tow.

But now they fear something has befallen one of the infant bruins, which has not been seen for days.

Parks Canada Human Wildlife Conflict Specialist Brianna Burley said the first clue something was wrong was last Friday, when the young cub’s sibling was spotted running along a highway fence in distress.
