Another member of the Ford family is looking for election to Toronto city council this fall.

Michael Ford — Mayor Rob Ford’s nephew — registered to run for city council Friday.

He’s vying to replace his uncle, Doug Ford, as the councillor for Etobicoke North (Ward 2).

Rumours of the younger Ford’s candidacy have been swirling around City Hall for months and he has been frequently spotted going in and out of the mayor’s office and at the mayor’s side during public events.

Michael is the son of Kathy Ford — Doug and Rob Ford’s sister.

Ford’s candidacy comes just a week before the Fords host Ford Fest Scarborough.

An invite sent out Friday said that everything is “free” at the event that will be held in Thomson Memorial Park the night of July 25.

“We look forward to seeing you there,” read the invite from Rob Ford, Doug Ford and “the whole Ford family.”
