A pair of huskies suspected of killing two cats and seriously injuring a terrier have residents of a ritzy Montreal suburb fearing a child could be next.

Danielle Lacharite, of Laval, Que., told QMI Agency that she found two of her cats dead in her backyard two weeks ago.

"They had holes in their sides and another in their necks," the woman says.

She didn't see the huskies kill her cats, but found dog hair near the bodies.

"My neighbours had seen them in my yard that day," says Lacharite, who filed a police complaint.

"(The huskies are) very threatening," she added. "Are we going to wait until a child is mauled?"

That's exactly what happened to a Yorkshire terrier that escaped from its yard last week, says the terrier's owner, Renee Patenaude.

Alerted by wails, Patenaude found her little dog in the mouth of one of the huskies.

"He was in very bad shape," recalls Patenaude, who decided to have it euthanized.
