CALGARY - It’s the location where five people were killed in April, and now 11 Butler Cr. N.W. is up for sale.

Looking at the MLS online listing without prior knowledge a potential buyer would never know five people were stabbed to death there last April.

Matthew de Grood, 22, has been charged with five counts of first degree murder.

“The location of this property could not be better and it awaits your personal touch to turn it into something great,” the MLS online listing states. “With ample space inside, while located on a massive lot in a great community, this property has tons of potential for the right person/investor.”

The house is for sale at a price of $489,900.

Memorials for the five victims are still up outside the home.

Selling the home to a new owner is a horrible idea, according to Coun. Diane Colley-Urquhart.

“I can’t imagine who would want to buy the house and live there,” Colley-Urquhart said.

“This was such a tragedy for all those families and our city.

“Memorializing that tragedy in some way ... to me that would be ideal.”
