TORONTO - The mayoral campaign took a quick break from the City Hall circus and joined the carnival on Saturday.

All five frontrunners were out at the 47th annual Caribbean Carnival grand parade and each one had a different approach to the celebration.

Mayor Rob Ford got down off a float and walked with the dancers in the parade where he was wildly accepted.

“Mayor Ford you’re the bomb,” one young lady shouted.

Mayoral candidate Olivia Chow was costumed and danced along the side of the parade.

She described her outfit: “It’s tribal and angels with lots of feathers and bringing joyful wishes to everyone.”

John Tory and David Soknacki took a slightly more toned down approach as they made their way through the crowd, though Tory’s campaign signs followed behind him.
