TORONTO -- "Party drugs" sold and ingested at the Veld electronic music festival may have caused two deaths and sent 13 others to hospital over the weekend, Toronto Police said.

Deputy Chief Mark Saunders said that on Sunday evening a 20-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man died after taking drugs at Downsview Park concert site.

Police are not specifying which drug they took, but are looking at whether the substance was contaminated or poisoned. They urged those who bought drugs at the festival to turn them over to police for analysis.

"People are saying it could be MDMA, it could be ecstasy, GHB, but we're being as generic as possible at this point in time," Deputy Chief Mark Saunders said, adding he couldn't say whether the drug was a pill, powder or taken intravenously.
