TORONTO - Mayor Rob Ford now has the “momentum” in Toronto’s mayoral race, according to his campaign manager, Councillor Doug Ford.

The mayor’s brother made the bold prediction on Monday despite polls showing mayoral rivals John Tory and Olivia Chow ahead of the embattled incumbent. Not surprisingly, both the Chow and Tory campaigns disagreed with Ford’s claim.

“People will come on side, you just watch,” Councillor Ford said Monday. “Rob Ford has momentum — the numbers show it. Tory’s flat, if not he’s dropped, and Olivia Chow is tumbling which scares me.”

He maintained 98% of those wanting their photo taken with the mayor are “passionate” supporters.
