TORONTO — A four-year-old girl suffered serious injuries after falling from a fourth-floor window at an apartment building in Mississauga, Ont., Wednesday morning. Const. Thomas Ruttan said the child was initially taken to a local hospital west of Toronto but was then transferred to a trauma unit. Ruttan said investigators have determined there's “no criminality” in the case. “The child is being looked at by doctors,” he said. “We’re hopeful that everything turns out OK.” At the apartment building, the ripped screen on the window flitted back and forth in the wind. The window remained open. It's not clear what caused the child to fall but several building residents told QMI Agency the girl was at the window talking to children playing on the ground below when she fell.
